FOREVER BABIES AT REASONABLE PRICES!
Alexandria (Alex for short!!!) was reborn from an Ashton Drake, Linda Webb, Alex baby sculpt. Please browse through Alexandria' s pictures and I will describe her"rebirth" to you. Enjoy and as always, thanks for visiting the Azygous Kids Nursery.
Alex started life as most babies here at the Azygous Nursery. I removed all her original color, removed the glued on hair from her smooth head, and started with the newly blank canvas. She took a nice warm bubble bath to bring out those pretty baby colors.
This silicone mix vinyl is so fun to work with. She smells wonderful and feels like a real baby. Alex is such a tired little girl. Although I sometimes create babies from the same sculpts, they cannot be reproduced and each Azygous Kids baby is unique. If baby Alexandria has crawled into your heart, please bid now, as there will not be another. I hand painted Alex inside and out. Each little fold and crease was attended to. Of course, she is not a toy, but is a collectible, heirloom, meant to last for a long time.
I painted wispy eyebrows on baby Alex. I also painted natural colored lips that have been sealed and hand rooted mohair, baby lashes in the same shade of brown as her hair. Her tiny little fingernails and toenails have been tipped in off-white (so natural looking), and sealed with a sealer that won't yellow with time. I opened Alex's nose so she could breathe.
I rooted Alex's hair with beautiful mohair from OrgandyRose. I just love this mohair. This is a color called Havanna Brown. It can be left soft and fluffy, or be dampened to create beautiful little curls. Her hair is microrooted and looks as though it is growing from her scalp. I rooted her hair very sparsely to look as though she is a newborn baby. (see pic below, I have it dampened and curled up on top.)
I gave Alex a beautiful new doe suede, jointed, baby body made by Debra's Doll Designs. These are wonderful bodies, and fit this doll perfectly. Alex now wears 0-3 month sized baby clothing. She has full legs and 1/4 arms. Her limbs have been filled with squishy little baby fat pellets, so when you squeeze them, it feels like a real baby. Her body has been stuffed and weighted with premium polyester stuffing and more baby fat pellets. She is so fun to dress. She just melts into your arms when you pick her up. So fun.
Baby Alex has a birthmark by her left ear. You can see it in the photo above. She also has a couple of stork bites on her head, where they probably used instruments in her birth. You will have to support her little head when you hold her, just like a real baby.
Baby Alexandria has a very strong magnet in her head and her pacifier. These rare-earth magnets should not be used around computer equipment or pace-makers. Please let me know if you need this magnet removed. (pacifier not pictured, but included)

I feel so blessed by God to be able to create these incredibly "real" babies. I love creating them and I am anxious to share them with you. I have enjoyed real babies all my life and making these reborns seems to come naturally to me. I have been an artist for many years, painting with water colors and oils, so creating these small children is like painting on a 3D canvas. It is truly a gift from God. And, such fun!!!
