Baby Layne started life as a Lee Middleton Club doll named Baby & Me. Reva Schick was the artist and this doll was released in 2002. Layne started out as the caucasian Baby & Me, but I wanted to see her as a bi-racial child. Please browse through her pictures and I will describe her"rebirth" to you. Although I sometimes create babies from the same sculpts, they cannot be reproduced and each Azygous Kids baby is unique. I do special order babies, but already have several I am working on, so if you'd like an Azygous Kid right now, please bid on one here on ebay.
Layne has full limbs, making her so fun to dress and pose. Of course, she is not meant to be a play toy, but a collectible, heirloom, meant to last for a long time.
Layne started life as most of my reborns. I brought her home, tore her apart, bathed her and then started bringing her to life. Layne was a previously loved and played with baby, and was in pretty sad shape when she arrived. The only lasting mark on her is a small shiny mark on her right knee. Not visible in most picture, but still there. Layne has a darling curly Kemper synthetic, black wig. She also has matching wispy eyelashes, hand drawn eyebrows, and beautiful Eyeco Chuck Hazel eyes. I have given her natural colored lips that have been sealed. Her fingernails and toenails have been tipped in off white and sealed with a sealer that won't yellow with time. I opened Layne's nose to make her a breather.
Layne kept her original body, but it has been dyed to match her skin. Her body is weighted with poly pellets and has wonderful poly stuffing for cuddliness. Baby Layne wears 0-3 month old baby clothing perfectly.
Layne's curly hair is so fun to style. You can brush it into curls or comb it straighter if you like. I have it up in 2 tiny pigtails held by little barretts.
Layne has a magnetic pacifier. This should not be used around pacemakers or computers, so please let me know if you need it removed.

Layne's Homecoming:
Layne will arrive home to you in her beautiful peach colored Carter's sleeper. This looks so pretty with her skin and hair coloring. She will bring along her Faded Glory one piece outfit, pink socks and Wee Sport shoes. Of course, she loves her stuffed pig and won't go anywhere without it. She also still wants her pacifier but doesn't use it much. I will send along her favorite blanket (not pictured) and an extra diaper, just in case.

I feel so blessed by God to be able to create these incredibly "real" babies. I love creating them and I am anxious to share them with you. I have enjoyed real babies all my life and making these reborns seems is just a gift from God for me. I have been an artist for many years, painting with water colors and oils, so creating these small children is like painting on a 3D canvas. It is truly a gift from God. And, such fun!!!
