Gabriel was reborn from a Berenguer preemie Taylor face baby. Please browse through little Gabriel' s pictures and I will describe his"rebirth" to you. Enjoy and as always, thanks for visiting the Azygous Kids Nursery.

Gabriel started life as any other baby here at the Azygous Nursery. I first removed all his original coloring and then, he took a nice, warm bubble bath to bring out his "babyish" color.

He is such a tired little guy. I hand painted Gabriel inside and out, using acrylic and oil based paints. Each little fold and crease was attended to. Of course, he is no longer a toy, but a collectible, heirloom, meant to last for a long time.

I painted wispy eyebrows and natural colored lips that have been sealed and hand rooted beautiful baby lashes. His tiny little fingernails and toenails have been tipped in off-white (so natural looking), and sealed with a sealer that won't yellow with time. Gabriel's nose has been opened so he can breathe.

I microrooted Gabes hair with beautiful, soft, dark brown alpaca hair from the United Kingdom. Amazing, these needles that can root hair so thin, one at a time, to make it look as though it is growing from his head. It is time consuming, but so worth it. I rooted Gabriel's hair very sparsely as a newborn baby would have. I also hand rooted eyelashes in the same brown alpaca hair for him.

Gabriel has had his scalp smoothed, but he is a boo boo baby, because when I was smoothing, I slipped and scratched his forehead down next to his right eye. Almost not noticeable, but I know it is there. You have to look close, but check out the picture below. You can see the scratch from the brow to the eyelashes in the photo.

I gave Gabriel a new, jointed body. He wears preemie sized clothing. His limbs have been filled with sterile sand and polyfill, and sealed to prevent leakage. His body has been stuffed and weighted with premium polyester stuffing and poly pellets. He is so poseable. He feels so wonderful to hold, and you won't want to put him down.

You will have to support his little head when you hold him, just like a real baby. His 1/4 arms and legs make him so poseable. He is such a cuddly baby boy.

Baby Gabriel has a very strong magnet in his head and his pacifier. These rare-earth magnets should not be used around computer equipment or pace-makers.

I feel so blessed by God to be able to create these incredibly "real" babies. I love creating them and I am anxious to share them with you. I have enjoyed real babies all my life and making these reborns seems to come naturally to me. I have been an artist for many years, painting with water colors and oils, so creating these small children is like painting on a 3D canvas. It is truly a gift from God. And, such fun!!!
